DAY 1 – 24. April 2024

MONOKAY

Even when Monokay released their debut EP on their own in early 2023, it was clear they wanted to approach things differently. “Nu-Grunge-Gaze-Core” is the nonsensical term they use to describe their music while playfully refusing to commit to any specific genre. Few bands can navigate this difficult terrain and master the sometimes hard-to-define balance between hardcore, punk, alternative rock, shoegaze, and even straightforward pop. The Noise Appeal newcomer can do just that.

DIRTY TALONS

Dirty Talons play riff rock with three guitars, musically heavily influenced by bands like Sheer Mag, Kvelertak, Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, as well as Boston and Judas Priest, while Jess’s piercing yet clean vocals sometimes remind one more of 80s pop and thematically burst with inner conflicts and self-doubt, narcissism and manipulation, but also self-empowerment and determination.

FLOWERS IN CONCRETE

Flowers In Concrete are pros at creating a unique atmosphere reminiscent of British street punk meeting the European school of punk rock, but also with the presence of melodic hardcore lurking somewhere in the mix. One of the DIY hardcore punk scene’s flagship acts of the 1990s has been causing a stir again for some years now, and rightly so.

TRACKER

The fuzz boxes take on a life of their own while quirky synthesizer sounds come together in convoluted chords that resonate from the rehearsal room. It’s a beautiful chaos, a complicated tapestry waiting to be discovered by those who truly listen. Slip into the proto-punk leather jacket, elegantly enveloped in desert dust, and turn the dials to full: Tracker is not just back on stage but also on the turntable with “On! On! On!” released in March 2024.

DAY 2 – 25. April 2024

DRIVE MOYA

Listening to Drive Moya’s music is like going on an exciting journey through time, as demonstrated impressively by their second release “The Great End” in February. At least, the early musical influences of the three members are immediately clear. It’s the indie and grunge of the early 90s that form the roots for Drive Moya’s sound, which they transfer to more modern forms of rock without any hint of nostalgia.

WIPEOUT

Step into the dark side of club music with shaky basslines, hybrid vocals and heavy beats for those who never grow old. The boys of Wipeout have been around for some time. They started in the early ’90s as a weird techno / EBM / wave trio. As Austrian leaders in subculture electro-pop they toured for decades and produced a few sold-out CDs with a special blend of industrial techno and synth pop. Big hooklines and punchy refrains people love to hum shine in an evergreen manner.

le_mol

le_mol was formed in 2012. The duo gained some attention in the post-rock scene with its releases and has a unique way of fascinating the audience with its live shows. Using several loop stations and effect pedals, the multi-instrumentalists build loop tracks over which they then layer their songs and improvisations. To let go and dive into a world of their own. Close your eyes and enjoy.

LEHNEN

Lehnen and Noise Appeal also share a long common path. Founded in 2006 in the heart of Austria, Lehnen creates its own unique mix of post-hardcore and post-rock – from beautiful soundscapes with catchy vocal melodies to a massive wall of sound. Extensive tours through the USA and Europe and concerts with bands like Russian Circles, Boris, Caspian, or Tides from Nebula have grown a unique live band that should not be missed.
